Today I want to share with you a little story about perseverance and how we can do whatever we want, just if we go for it. Since I remember, my dad was “the chubby one” of the family, a lot of people used to make fun of him because of his weight, but he never paid attention to that because he was feeling happy with the way he was. We, as a family, said to him many times things like: “try to eat healthier”, “why don’t you work out?”, “you need to see a doctor”, “you need to take care of your health”, but my dad’s answer was always “There is nothing better than eating a good dessert, so I think I will never stop doing it”. Less than 2 years ago, my dad went to the doctor for a regular check up, but the results showed some negative results. The results indicated that his cholesterol and blood pressure were both really high; on top of that, he is more likely to have diabetes because of his medical-family history. He got really scared and he decided to make a change into his lifestyle. Something that was not easy at all for him! He started by cutting off the amount of junk food he used to eat (Pizzas, hamburgers, desserts, Ice creams, etc.), and started to eat healthier. Then, he started to walk at least 8km per day and over time he began to feel much better with his body. He was feeling more flexible and with a lot more energy, so he kept doing that until he completely changed his lifestyle. Now his health is perfect and he is not taking any pills in order to regulate his blood pressure or his cholesterol levels, now my dad is always looking for the healthiest options at any place he goes and of course he had to change his entire closet! This is a picture of my dad NOW! He lost 30kg without any operation or a really hard and difficult routine, he just worked hard and persevered because he had a clear objective and he showed to me, to my family and to a lot of people, that if you want to make a change into your lifestyle you just NEVER GIVE UP! Are you ready to make that change? Stay connected for more posts!
Take Care, Gabi!
